Solihull/Togetherness Approach: Antenatal Foundation & Antenatal Parent Group


Purpose

To provide the 2-day Solihull Approach Foundation Programme for midwives working with parents during pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period and provide an overview of the Antenatal Parent Group Programme

Learning Outcomes
  • To increase knowledge of the underpinning evidence and theories in:- Baby Brain Development, Containment Reciprocity, Behaviour management, - how the above links to Infant Mental Health
  • To synthesise the above in preparing parents for the development of a healthy emotional relationship with their baby.
  • To support parents-to-be in the transition to pregnancy and early parenthood
  • To assist parents-to-be in making positive choices that will contribute to their health and their infant.
  • To provide an overview of the Antenatal Parent Group programmes that will be delivered within the Trust.

Method

Online or face to face delivery

To complete this programme online you must join using a device which has a functioning camera and microphone.

Important Information

Following the Foundation Programme Midwives will be required to attend 4 practice sessions of two hours each.
