Pain Management for Adult Acute Nurses


Purpose

To enhance the participant's knowlege and skills in assessing and managing an individual's pain using a person-centred approach within a multidisciplinary team.

Learning Outcomes
  • Describe the underlying anatomy and physiology of pain, including key structures and processes involved in pain perception and modulation.
  • Apply a person-centred approach to the assessment of pain, including recognising common barriers to effective pain assessment.
  • Evaluate a range of pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management strategies for the adult patient.
