Anaphylaxis Management and the use of Patient Group Direction (PGDs)


Purpose

To provide an opportunity to gain skills and knowledge relating to emergency management of anaphylaxis & Patient Group Direction (PGD’s)

Learning Outcomes
  • Review the incidence of anaphylaxis
  • Identified the clinical features of anaphylaxis for both adults and children
  • Review the Resuscitation Council (UK) guidance on the management of anaphylaxis including in the vaccination setting
  • Understand the legal mechanisms by which they can supply and administer medication using patient group directions (PGDs).
Audience

Nurses, Midwives, Senior Nursing Assistants and Professionally qualified staff undertaking a regional Vaccinator Role
