Purpose

To ensure all patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) receive compassionate, safe and effective care by enhancing the knowledge of staff caring for them.

Learning Outcomes
  • Define Multiple Sclerosis, the different types and identify the clinical presentation of each
  • Outline the pathophysiology of Multiple Sclerosis
  • Discuss interventions that support the person with Multiple Sclerosis to manage their condition and associated complications
  • Recognise the role of the multidisciplinary team in the management of Multiple Sclerosis
  • Identify the available resources to support the patient and their family in managing the impact of Multiple Sclerosis
