Supervision - A Pathway to Reflective Supervision for Registered Nurses & Midwives

Purpose

This programme will provide practical experience of reflective supervision for all nursing and midwifery New and Existing supervisors in keeping with NIPEC Reflective Supervision Guidance 2022

Learning Outcomes

• Define the concept of Reflective Supervision
• Discuss the principles and standards underpinning Reflective Supervision Framework for Nursing and Midwifery in NI (NIPEC Reflective Supervision Framework 2022)
• Reflect on the skills and strategies used to facilitate Reflective Supervision
• Demonstrate and practice skills in restorative resilience model of supervision
• Review an action plan for the provision of ongoing Reflective Supervision within your organisation/clinical area

Face to Face delivery

Teaching methods include lecture, prior experiential learning, case study examples, simulated learning.

This programme is also supported with pre-course eLearning:  It is recommended that registrants new to supervisor role complete pre course eLearning on https://learn.hscni.net.   This eLearning is also open to current supervisors  prior to attending this practice based programme.
