Cancer Care: An Introduction


Purpose

To provide participants with an understanding of the cancer disease trajectory, cancer treatments, potential side effects, and the management and therapeutic interventions required for people impacted by cancer. 

Learning Outcomes
  • Outline the cancer services available within the Region
  • Identify support services available to people affected by a cancer diagnosis.
  • Explain the principles of SACT and its therapeutic use in the management of cancer.
  • Recognise and manage the common side effects from cancer treatment.
  • Identify and manage common oncological emergencies.
  • Discuss the needs of people undergoing Radiotherapy Treatments.
