To provide an awareness of the Person Centred Care required for the effective management of a patient with Motor Neurone Disease (MND)

Learning Outcomes
  • Define MND and identify the clinical presentation
  • Explore the aetiology and treatments
  • Outline the management of common symptoms when caring for a person with MND.
  • Recognise the role of the Multidisciplinary team and other statutory providers
  • Appreciate the significance of psychological and emotional support for patient, family and carers.
  • Reflect on the importance of Advance Care Planning

Registered Nurse, Nursing Assistant, Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist.
