To provide participants with an overview of Stroke and Transient Ischaemic Attack in adults, including an overview of the: Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, nursing care and management.

  • Considered the definition, epidemiology, risk factors and diagnosis of Stroke & transient ischaemic attack.
  • Discussed the journey from symptom onset, assessment in acute care and immediate treatment.
  • Reviewed nursing care and management, early complications of stroke, and preparation for discharge and rehabilitation.
