PURPOSE-T and SSKIN Bundle - Midwifery

Purpose

To facilitate Midwives to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to undertake a Purpose-T Pressure Ulcer Risk Assessment and utilise a Maternity SSKIN Bundle.

Learning Outcomes

• Provide a rationale for introducing Purpose-T into Midwifery practice in Northern Ireland (NI)
• Summarise the key element of the Purpose-T tool (Screening, Full Assessment, Assessment Decision)
• Accurately complete a Purpose-T Pressure Ulcer Risk Assessment using Case studies
• Outline the regional maternity SSKIN bundle chart for maternity patients with or at risk of developing pressure damage and the actions required
