Regional AAC Pathway and Decision Tree - Session 1


Purpose

This training will focus on the Regional AAC Pathway and Decision Tree. It will examine the rationale for inclusion of each step in the Pathway and review the roles and responsibilities of SLTs at each step.

Learning Outcomes

By completing this programme participants will be better able to:

  • Understand the rationale for inclusion of each step in the AAC Pathway and Decision Tree.
  • Identify who should be referred to CAC and who should be managed within local SLT services.
  • Describe the range of AAC assessment tools available to Trust based SLTs.
  • Demonstrate evidence-based decision making around AAC assessment and referral to the Communication Advice Centre (CAC).
Audience

Any SLT involved in the delivery or supervision of AAC intervention, who is unfamiliar with the AAC Pathway and Decision Tree

Method

1 day live online programme incorporating lecture, discussion and case-based learning.
