Purpose

To provide an update about the extent, severity and relevance of Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse to your practice in Health and Social Care.

Learning Outcomes
  • Have increased knowledge of the definitions and range of Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse.
  • Increase awareness of the impact of Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse on victims.
  • Improve knowledge of the Northern Ireland Legal Framework in relation to Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse.
  • Know how to respond if a victim discloses Domestic Violence and Abuse.
  • Gain information on safety planning and available resources / contacts to protect the victim and their children.
  • Discuss Routine Enquiry-Confident to ask – ready to respond
