Bridging the Gap: Interprofessional Simulation for Doctors and Nurses


Purpose
  • To enhance person-centred care by optimising collaboration, communication and mutual understanding between doctors and nurses through interprofessional simulation-based education. .
Learning Outcomes
  • Apply effective communication and interprofessional teamwork through simulated clinical practice
  • Demonstrate professionalism, leadership and delegation as part of an interprofessional team.
  • Through simulated practice, construct an interprofessional management plan for a range of clinical scenarios.
  • Evaluate the impact of interprofessional collaboration on patient safety, utilising debriefing to reflect upon strategies of continuous improvement in clinical practice.

 

 

Audience

Internationally Trained Medical Doctors, Registered Nurses

Nursing staff should in first instance be of acute medical background with experience of simulation/previous attendance at simulation based education course (Deteriorating Adult etc)
