Advanced Professional Reasoning and Decision-making (Multiprofessional)


Purpose

To gain a shared reasoning framework to support organisational, service, team and practice decisions that are ethical and achieve the best possible outcomes and experience for service users whilst acknowledging the resource constraints facing public sector organisations.  To begin to apply the framework to day-to-day practice, within uni- and multi-disciplinary teams

Learning Outcomes
  • increased understanding of the importance of outcomes-driven, strengths-based practice in supporting their clinical effectiveness
  • increased confidence in their ability to evidence their professional reasoning and, therefore, communicate their decisions to others, retaining autonomy
  • an increased understanding of the nature and importance of collaborative conversations in clarifying their duty of care and clinical responsibility
  • a joint understanding of how a clear, integrated formulation of need, driven by intended outcomes, is the basis of effective practice
  • an increased understanding of the nature and importance of reflective practice in professional development and improved decision-making.

Method

3 days online

Please note

This workshop includes taught elements and group work and requires participants to discuss their own case examples in small groups.

Participants should have

  • quiet space for each practitioner to use with no distractions. No shared devices.
  • access to and permission to use Zoom 
  • access to a computer/laptop (no tablets or phones please)
  • access to a reliable internet connection
