Childhood Vaccinations

Purpose

To enable participants develop the necessary knowledge and skills on changes to the childhood immunisation schedule NI to safely vaccinate children.

Learning Outcomes

• Describe how vaccines should be transported, distributed, stored effectively.
• Explain the current immunisation schedule in the UK.
• Give an overview of the diseases that are vaccinated against in the UK.
• Describe physiological immunity and the immune response following vaccination.
• Apply health promotion principles, providing reliable robust information relating to vaccines.
• Demonstrate how to safely and effectively administer a vaccine.
