Safeguarding Children (Level 2)

Purpose

To provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to recognise, respond, report and record concerns about child safeguarding effectively. 

Learning Outcomes

• Demonstrate how to recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns using a trauma informed LENS.
• Identify Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) and describe their relevance when assessing safeguarding concerns.
• Describe the legal framework and key drivers for safeguarding children in NI.
• Explain your own role and responsibilities in safeguarding children,  sharing information and maintaining confidentiality.
• Discuss the process of reporting and recording concerns when a child is at risk of significant harm, including UNOCINI and referral process.
