Purpose

To develop the knowledge and skills to promote safe and effective delegation of care.

Learning Outcomes
  • Describe the principles of delegation and professional accountability.
  • Explain the legal, professional and ethical responsibilities which underpin delegation of care.
  • Outline the frameworks to support delegation decisions.
  • Explore the importance of reflective practice to enhance decision making and leadership skills. 
  • Apply framework considerations to clinical scenarios to promote effective delegation.
