Bridging the Gap: Interprofessional Simulation for Doctors and Nurses 


Purpose

To enhance person-centred care by optimising collaboration, communication and mutual understanding between doctors and nurses through interprofessional simulation-based education.

Learning Outcomes
  • Apply effective communication and interprofessional teamwork through simulated clinical practice.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, leadership and delegation as part of an interprofessional team.
  • Through simulated practice, construct an interprofessional management plan for a range of clinical scenarios.
  • Evaluate the role of interprofessional collaboration in promoting patient safety and reflect on strategies for continuous improvement in clinical practice. 
Audience

Band 5 Registered Nurse (Nursing staff should in the first instance be of a hospital-based, acute background) and new to Northern Ireland IMT 1 / IMT 2 Doctors.
