Humidified High Flow Air/Oxygen Delivery - An Introduction via Airvo 2 & 3 FP® devices

Purpose

To introduce participants to the management of the Adult receiving humidified high flow Air or Oxygen therapy via Nasal / Mask/ Tracheal interfaces.

Learning Outcomes

• Explain the role and clinical application of humidified high flow therapy in the management of the hypoxic adult using Airvo™ 2 and 3 devices (Fisher & Paykel).
• Demonstrate safe setup, operation, and adjustment of Airvo™ devices, including interpretation of interface readings and adherence to relevant guidelines for use, decontamination, and storage.
• Assess and manage patients receiving HHF, including monitoring, titration, and weaning of therapy in line with best practice.
• Identify risks and manage device-related issues, including contraindications, safety considerations, alarms, troubleshooting, and accessing appropriate support resources (e.g. Fisher & Paykel apps and videos).

Audience

Registered Nurses, Physiotherapists and Professionally Registered Healthcare Staff.

Method

Online or face to face delivery.

Please note this programme will be delivered online and participants will need access to a device which has a functioning camera and microphone so that you can fully participate in the class and group work throughout.

Important Information

• Following completion of this programme participants require clinical supervision to attain competence in the use of Airvo 2 & 3 Devices FP® per local Trust policy.
• Participants are to comply wholly with their local organisation policy and procedure in this regard.
