Humidified High Flow Air/Oxygen Delivery - An Introduction via Airvo 2 & 3 FP® devices


Purpose

To introduce participants to the management of the Adult receiving humidified high flow Air or Oxygen therapy via Nasal / Mask/ Tracheal interfaces.

Learning Outcomes
  • Outline the role and function of High Flow Humidified Therapy (HHF) in the management of the hypoxic adult (via Airvo 2 & 3 Devices FP®).
  • Discuss the relevant guidelines for setting up, monitoring of HHF, decontamination & storage of Airvo 2 & 3 Devices FP®.
  • State what the three readings on the Airvo ™ devices interface represent & how to adjust on Airvo 2 & 3 Devices FP®.
  • Outline patient and device monitoring, titration and weaning therapy.
  • Outline the contraindication, potential hazards and safety considerations.
  • Discuss alarms, trouble shooting problems and potential solutions.  
  • Source Fisher Paykell apps and video resources for Airvo 2 & 3 ™ devices.  
Audience

Registered Nurses, Physiotherapists and Professionally Registered Healthcare Staff.

Method

Online or face to face delivery.

Please note this programme will be delivered online and participants will need access to a device which has a functioning camera and microphone so that you can fully participate in the class and group work throughout.

Important Information
  • Following completion of this programme participants require clinical supervision to attain competence in the use of Airvo 2 & 3 Devices FP® per local Trust policy.
  • Participants are to comply wholly with their local organisation policy and procedure in this regard.
