Makaton Level 3

Purpose

To promote understanding of the Makaton Language System (signs and symbols)

Learning Outcomes

• Explain the rationale for using Makaton to support communication and inclusion.
• Recognise and interpret key signs and symbols used within the Makaton programme.
• Demonstrate the effective use of Makaton signs in everyday communication.

Key areas to be covered:

Level 3 - developing sign and symbol skills, revise stages 1-4/part A & B.  Additional vocabulary and learn signs and symbols for stages 5 and 6 of the core vocabulary

Audience

SLTs/SLTAs working with CWD/ALD across preschool/education/ ALD
