Makaton Level 4

Purpose

To promote understanding of the Makaton Language System (signs and symbols)

Learning Outcomes

• Explain the rationale for using Makaton to support communication and inclusion.
• Recognise and interpret key signs and symbols used within the Makaton programme.
• Demonstrate the effective use of Makaton signs in everyday communication.

Key areas to be covered:

Level 4 - revise the signs and symbols from level 1-6 and additional vocabulary and learn the signs and symbols for stages 7 and 8 of the core vocabulary

Audience

SLTs/SLTAs working with CWD/ALD across preschool/education/ ALD

Must have previously complete Makaton level 3
