Deteriorating Adult Community: Simulated Assessment, Intervention and Management


Purpose

To enhance the skills of participants in the assessment, recognition and management of patient deterioration in the community setting.

Learning Outcomes
  • Demonstrate the importance of early recognition & soft signs of the deteriorating adult.
  • Discuss the ABCDE approach to patient assessment.
  • Consider the use of the relevant tools when assessing and escalating concerns in deteriorating adults
  • Discuss the impact of human factors on the deteriorating patient
  • Simulate the recognition, assessment, interventions and management of the deteriorating adult.
  • Employ a debriefing tool to aid reflection of simulated practice.
Audience

Registered Nurses and Allied Health Professionals working in a community setting.
